The mischievous Oregon Duck is touted by the University of Oregon as “College Football’s Most Lovable Mascot.” And Duck fans and alumni can now own this officially licensed replica of the Downy Dandy today.
The Duck has an interesting history as he replaced live ducks, all named “Puddles”, which had visited Oregon games since the 1920s. In 1947, Oregon Athletic Director Leo Harris had a handshake agreement with Walt Disney to use Donald Duck’s likeness as the symbol of Oregon athletics. In his 50th birthday celebration in 1984, the Duck was named as an honorary alumnus of the university, complete with cap, gown and scroll. Around 2010, an agreement between Disney and the university allowed The Duck to make more public appearances but disassociated the costumed mascot from Disney’s Donald.
Stone Mascot’s “Puddles”, standing proudly as he displays the Oregon “O,” is made from premium cast stone and available in the school colors of green and yellow! The detail is striking, from his collegiate beanie, all the way down to his big webbed feet. The Oregon Duck will look awesome at your tailgate celebration or in your man cave setting.
