The nickname "Cornhusker" (or "Husker" for short) is used in only one place, that being the University of Nebraska. We are proud to have created the latest version of the venerable "N" logo, complete with the mighty moniker "HUSKERS" across the front.
Known by various nicknames in the late 1800s such as Hawkeyes, Antelopes, Old Gold Knights, Bugeaters and Mankilling Mastodons, the university's nickname Cornhuskers first appeared in the student newspaper in 1893 after a football victory over Iowa (those other Hawkeyes) with the name becoming universal by 1900.
Weighing in at 46 pounds, the Nebraska logo is decked out in traditional scarlet and will be a symbol of Big Red pride for all Husker fans, whether on the front porch or in your Husker den.
