It's hot in the desert and so is our mascot made especially for Arizona State University fans and alumni, Sparky the Sun Devil. Decked out in ASU colors and displaying the school "trident" sign, Sparky is sure to help "fire up" your Arizona State events with his presence.
The Sun Devil became the school mascot in 1946, by a student vote (and a landslide one at that). Originally, Arizona State had been known as the Owls and then the Bulldogs, but the new mascot was an instant hit. Two years later, Sparky was drawn up by Disney artist Berk Anthony.
Our rendition of this classic imp, based on the latest update, appears complete with flames, ASU lettering, pitchfork and tail. He's made of premium cast stone and finished in the familiar Arizona State maroon and gold. Sparky will grace any part of your home or office!
